PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

A timetable is a schedule of activities that are arranged chronologically.  It is an organized list of activities set out in a tabular form for easy use.  A timetable indicates the time that a particular activity or event will take place.

A timetable is common among public transports.  Examples of which are the bus timetable, train timetable and ferry timetable. These timetables list the times that the public transportation services arrive and depart at their specified locations. Public Transport Timetables area published in various formats and various physical forms such as electronically, a physical book or leaflet, or a poster or dynamic display at the stop.

A bus timetable provides a listing of the times that bus services arrive and depart at their designated locations. Bus timetables are published in various forms from comprehensive books covering an entire system or continent, to small cards that list the bus’ departure times from a single location.

Train timetable on the other hand is produced by individual train companies.  Each train company produces their own train timetables for their services, which are available at their stations. Copies of these train timetables can also be found at the train company’s website.

A Ferry timetable is the schedule of ferry services of ferry companies to different areas and sea ports. A ferry timetable is very useful for those who are travelling across islands or prefer ferry services rather than other public transports.  Ferry timetable gives them the convenience of knowing when to be at the ferry’s port.

A timetable for public transports is really important for both the transport companies and the people who use these services.  Because of timetables, transportation becomes efficient and more organized.  Bus timetable, train timetable and ferry timetable are indeed important for transport management and for the commuters as well.
